ransacking the rations
My parent's were in town this weekend for a visit, which coincided with the first UGA football game. Athens was absolutely mad and we all had a blast. I'm trying to catch up on all of the work that I didn't finish this weekend, including recording in-class essays on Faulkner's "A Rose for Emily," and grading tests on the parts of speech.
Our fridge and pantry are now morbidly obese, stocked to the screws with bags of flash frozen red snapper, tuna, salmon, a few bags of chicken, rice, sodas, meats, cheeses, veggies. It's funny really. They probably think they provided us with two or three weeks worth of food, so far from the college meal lifestyle that they don't know we could make that last for two months.
Speaking of the old college days, I finally received my diploma from Kent. It only took them four months. For some reason I thought that it would say something about the NEOMFA, but it's just an MFA from Kent State. Curious.
Now that the week is here again, I wish I would have savored the Terrapin a bit more. Oh well, cheers to a good weekend, and a good fall season to come.
