flannery is my favorite too. i was tremendously influenced by MYSTERY AND MANNERS and much of the southern school. i've taught her before and i think she's challenging for the first year students, but this reader that i have does a whole critical study of her and what she meant by being a "regional writer". and since we're in georgia, i thought it would be appropriate!!
And this Mary Biddinger lady seems pretty sassy and brassy and talented so I think it will be just the right order for November!!!
